 METALLIC AdS/CFT

 ABSTRACT

The AdS/CFT correspondence allows us to study transport properties of strongly-coupled quark-gluon plasmas. For example, transport coefficients such as shear viscosity can be computed via supergravity. I will describe an AdS/CFT calculation of a conductivity associated with flavor fields coupled to the strongly-coupled N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. The result for the conductivity exhibits features expected in the classical model of metals, hence the name "Metallic AdS/CFT."
