  HOW DARK IS "DARK" MATTER?

 ABSTRACT

The existence of dark matter is established through astronomical observations of the effects of its gravitational interactions. The ability to establish its mass and spin, however, or even that it is indeed particulate in nature, relies on the extent to which it Interacts through known interactions to Standard Model particles. I will discuss the existing constraints on the electromagnetic interactions of dark matter and detail how additional constraints emerge from the study of the polarization of the cosmological microwave background radiation.
