Ezra served in the Militia, as a Lieutenant, and was a constable of Sandwich. Will: "I leave and bequeathe to my well beloved son Samuel ..2 stiers of two, and one heifer of four years and a mare coult; one bed and furniture... gune and sword and bandaleers and one iron pot." Deborah, Ezra, and Sarah did not fare so well, receiving one shilling each. His descendents include Douglas MacArthur, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Mrs. Teddy Roosevelt.

Partially through the fortune of his wife, grandaughter of Governor Thomas Prence, he owned large tracts of land in Plymouth County. Ezra swore the "Oath of Fidelity" in 1678. His will left his wife Rebecca the use and improvement of all real and personal estate. Ebenezer received all upland, meadow, and swampy meadow in Rochester, and Ezra, the eldest, got "all the land before my dwelling"
