From his son Ronald Mitra Janki's home page:
My dad, Robert I Janki was born in Guyana on 9th December 1913. He attended the Queenstown Moravian School, won a Government County scholarship and attended Queens College. On leaving Queens College he joined the British Guyana civil service where he served for 33 years, retiring as deputy director of audit in
1969.
He attended the Guyana Presbyterian Church serving as elder and representative to the Presbytery. He also served on the Guyana council of churches and the Christian Social council and other board and committees.
He migrated to Canada in 1978 and now [1996] lives with his children and grandchildren, actively pursuing his passion for writing and reading
