"The Square Kilometer Array''
The SKA is an international program planning to provide radio astronomy
facilities covering the frequency band from 100 MHz to 25 GHz with a
sensitivity at least 50 times greater than what is available today
and providing
a wide field of view. The SKA will contribute in exploring fundamental science
questions from the epoch of reionization to dark matter and dark energy. The
program is being coordinated by the international 'SKA Science and Engineering
Committee' that oversees the 'SKA Program Development Office' located at
the University of Manchester, UK.
About 17 countries are involved and more than 50 institutions in
developing the SKA technology.
Refreshments will be served in CP 179 at 3:15 PM
