Color

Our eyes perceive light of different wavelengths as being light of different color. The two concepts are distinct, however: different wavelength mixtures may give the same color, and there are colors (in particular, black and white) which are not represented by light of a single wavelength. This section will study color, in order to make this distinction clearer.
