Physics according to Joe Christensen
Well, I tell you what happened. I started writing this and soon
realized that I was explaining things so that people who had studied
physics could understand. That is not quite what I intended. So, the old page is available, in case you are
curious. This page was originally meant to be an explanation of my
research field written in terms that the general public could
understand. I have also re-formatted the dictionary of the old page.
My expectation is that what would be of interest to the general public
is something more along the lines of an explanation of quantum
mechanics and/or relativity. Unfortunately, there are already so many
books, etc. available that I do not feel that I could add anything
significant. However, as I have been tutoring and reciting
introductory physics for quite a few years, I may be able to express
those ideas relatively clearly. Then again, perhaps I should just put
up my explanations of those topics that I have found to cause
particular problems among those students who take the introductory
class.
