I was born in Hong Kong.
I received my elementary education from La Salle
Primary School, and my high school from La Salle College.
I majored in Physics at the University of Hong Kong.
At the age of 23, I came to the United States. I continued my studies at
Iowa State University (Ames, Iowa) under the guidance of Professor E. L.
Wolf. I did tunneling (quasiparticle and Josephson) experiments on different
novel superconductors. My thesis title was "Josephson and Quasiparticle
Tunneling Studies of LiTi2O4 " .
After five years, I graduated with a Ph.D. in condensed
matter physics. I then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Alex
deLozanne's group in the University of Texas (Austin, Texas). I constructed
a scanning tunneling microscope in a dilution refrigerator, and also used
the low temperature scanning tunneling microscope to measure energy gap
of different high Tc superconductors.
I later joined the Physics faculty of the University
of Kentucky (Lexington, Kentucky). I got married in Texas, and now I have
one son.
