Augustin Jean Fresnel Born: Broglie, France Died: Ville-d'Avray, France 10 May 1788 - 14 July 1827

Fresnel died before the birth of James Clerk Maxwell ( 13 June 1831 in Edinburgh, Scotland), how could he derive the Fresnel equations from the E&M point of view? This is not a homework problem, since I do not know the answer myself.
