Homework is done using the on-line homework and tutoring system WebAssign. Before accessing the first homework assignment you must register yourself. Go to the Course material site, select the WebAssign entry and follow the instructions. Please visit the same site for help instructions whenever you encounter difficulties.

ACCESS CODE PROBLEMS
This class is part of the Enhanced WebAssign series. Access code prefixes must start with one of the following:

BC Enhanced S
BC Enhanced 2S/3Q
Serway-S
BCM-S
Enhanced S
Enhanced 2S/3Q

Some students were not able to register properly on WebAssign because the access codes they purchased at the bookstore are inadequate for this class. Students that purchased the wrong code cards should return them to the bookstore for refund. If the bookstore calls WebAssign (1-800-955-8275, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm ET, Monday - Friday), they can confirm that the code has not been registered and can be returned to them for credit. Since hundreds of UK chemistry class students use WebAssign with generic code cards, these students might also be able to re-sell their cards or hold onto them if they plan to take a chemistry course that uses WebAssign.

These students are still unregistered. WebAssign has pushed our class registration deadline until February 4th, and unregistered students must complete their registration by that deadline. Registration can be done online with a credit card, which is normally the least expensive option. Alternatively, these students may want to contact Kennedy Books and see if they still have proper codes in stock.

For class participation, you must purchase a TurningPoint RF clicker. The clickers are bundled with the textbooks in the bookstore, where they should also be available as a stand-alone product. If you are purchasing your book elswhere, you can buy just the clicker at the bookstore. Make sure you purchase the right clicker! You must then register your clicker here.

Course Evaluations are an important (and mandatory!) component of our Department's instructional program. An on-line course evaluation system was developed to allow each student ample time to evaluate each component of the course and instructor, thus providing the Department with meaningful numerical scores and detailed commentary while minimizing the loss of instructional time in the classroom. The evaluation window for Spring 2008 has opened on Monday, April 7, and will close on Wednesday, April 23. IMPORTANT: Dedaline extended until 5pm Friday, April 25 To access the system during this time, simply go the Department of Physics Web page at http://www.pa.uky.edu and click on the link for Course Evaluations; then follow the instructions. You will need to use your student ID\# to log into the system, and this will also allow us to monitor who has filled out evaluations. However, when you log-in you will be assigned a random number that will keep all your comments and scores anonymous.
