be offered a Teaching Assistantship (TA)? v In general, all
students in the program are supported with a Fellowship, Teaching
Assistantship, or Research Assistantship. These all include complete tuition
scholarships as well as stipends to cover all living expenses. When will I hear if

Physics & Astronomy determines whether to admit you to our program. What do I send
where? v

We (the Department
of Physics & Astronomy) ask for COPIES of transcripts and COPIES of
GRE and COPIES of TOEFL results to be sent directly to us (see here), NOT to the Can my letters of
reference be sent electronically? v
No. Currently we require hard copies
of all reference forms and letters to be sent directly to us from your
referees (see here
for forms). Is there a minimum
GRE requirement? v
No. The Is there a Subject
GRE requirement for Physics? v
No. We do not require the Subject (Physics) GRE for admission to Physics &
Astronomy. Is there a minimum
TOEFL requirement? v
Yes. The Is there Spring Semester
admission? v Requests for Spring admission are handled on a
case by case basis, and depend on the availability of Fellowships, Teaching Assistantships, or
Research Assistantships. There is no
formal deadline, other than the need to complete the admissions process (and
for international applicants to obtain visas) in time for the Spring
Semester. |
