What we offer Hands-on science courses, delivered in a distance learning format
Who it is for: Elementary and middle school teachers who want to learn more about physical science, either for course credit or professional development, through activities that can be used in the classroom. Course topics
Here are some sample pages. Click here To Request Information We offer a series of physical science courses, delivered in a distance learning format. Its elements are a kit of equipment, a manual of activities, a website or CD to provide instruction, and the use of email to communicate with the instructors.
Costs: Groups of 4th-8th grade teachers taking Temperature & Heat may qualify as part of our grant pilot study. Training and materials are free for groups selected for that study, supported by the Fund for the Improvement of PostSecondary Education. The participation cost is $200 per group (1 to 3 teachers). This includes all materials and on-line instruction for the group. Graduate credit from the University of Kentucky costs $403/credit hour (for fall semester 2007, for anyone in the US) + $75 for the materials.
