POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS
IN THEORETICAL ASTROPHYSICS

Department of Physics & Astronomy, University of Kentucky

We are always interested in applicants for a postdoctoral position in theoretical astrophysics.
The appointments are typically for two years with a possibility of extention for an additional
year, contingent on continuing funding. Appointees must have a Ph.D. in physics or astronomy,
and will work with Dr. Isaac Shlosman on different aspects of galaxy formation and evolution,
AGN fueling, and related issues. Experience with N-body, hydro- and SPH codes is desirable.

The University of Kentucky provides an excellent environment for computational research. The
options include the UK Supercomputer Center Machine(s) and a dedicated Linux Cluster for the
galactic dynamics group.

Inquiries should be directed to Dr. Isaac Shlosman (shlosman@pa.uky.edu). If interest persists,
the applicants should submit a resume, a list of publications, a short description of research
interests, and arrange for three letters of recommendation --- all to be e-mailed to
shlosman@pa.uky.edu.
