The University of Kentucky Society of Physics Students (UK SPS) chapter is a professional and social organization for Physics majors, minors and those with a general interest in physics. We organize events such as Cosmic Lunches, group trips and open lab days to promote interest in physics and cohesion among undergraduate physics students at UK.

Cosmic Lunch

Free Food Included!

The cosmic lunch is a monthly event held by the UK SPS in the Chemistry & Physics Room #352 (CP352). Lunch is provided by the department while a professor comes to give an informal talk on a physics related topic. Past topics have included: holography, superconductivity, dark matter and a wide range of other subjects. The past and present cosmic lunch schedule for the 2012-2013 academic year is linked below. Free Physics Tutoring

There are two free services located on campus that can provide free physics tutoring. The first is priviate tutoring provided by physics graduate students at UK. The second is through The Study and is located on the third floor of the Complex Complex Building. Generally, graduate students and The Study tutors can help in 100 and 200-level physics courses.
