DAQ CRASH RECOVERY

Starting the MIDAS DAQ after Crash

  1. Stop the DAQ frontend (exclamation mark). If you cannot stop it just close the terminal where the frontend lives.
  2. Login to mulandaq PC on account mulan
  3. Go to acquistion directory mulandaq/mulanfe cd mulandaq/mulanfe
  4. Execute midas_cleanup
    ./midas_cleanup

  5. Execute ramverify
    ./ramveryfy

and make sure its output is OK (no errors). Here's an excerpt from a successful ramverify (errc=0).

  6. If ramverify fails, reboot the VME WFD crate
    ./reboot_vmecrate

    and redo ramverify
  7. Start a web browser http://mulandaq:8081
  8. If the web page is not coming, start the mhttpd by hand (midas_cleanup should have done it)
    mhttpd -p 8081 -D

(If it refuses to run, just keep trying in approx 30 sec. intervals)

  9. Make sure that mlogger is running. If there's no mlogger (see the MIDAS web page)
    mlogger -D

  10. Start the MIDAS front-end
    ./fewfd

  11. Now you're ready to collect data
