Learning Objectives
In this course, students will learn the following:
-
How to assess the accuracy of a measurement, and how to communicate this to
others.
- How Newton's Laws of Motion apply to everyday situations
-
To distinguish between the concepts of mass and weight
- The relationship between force and the amount of energy transferred
- The significance of the conservation of energy
- The correct definition and application of the various kinds of energy:
kinetic energy, gravitational energy, elastic energy, potential energy.
- How to define and calculate speed, velocity, and acceleration.
- How to interpret graphs of position versus time, to determine the
speed, and how to interpret graphs of velocity versus time, to determine
the acceleration.
