The Physics of Light -- Shadows

What would a bug sitting in the fuzzy edge of the shadow made by the frosted bulb see, looking back at the bulb?

The bug would see part of the large frosted lightbulb! So it sees some light, but not all of the light coming from the bulb. That explains why that particular place on the screen (where the bug is sitting) is neither fully lit nor fully shaded. This corresponds to 'fuzzy'.
