Look at these differently colored panels using your spectroscope.


You may notice that the spectra of the different colors have a certain similarity. They in fact are made by turning on three little lights in different amounts, and every spectrum is made by putting together a "red" spectrum, and "green" spectrum, and a "blue" spectrum. And yet the monitor can make many different colors! There is a difference between color and wavelength that we will study further later.
