The clear bulb makes a sharp shadow, because all the light comes from one place -- the filament (the photograph on the left doesn't show this accurately).  The light from the frosted bulb comes from all over its surface.

You should set up this exercise for yourself.  There is a worksheet "Shadows #4" in the Shadows section of the manual that you can use.

Assume that just as we snapped the pictures above, a bug crawled into the shadow on our screen.  If the bug were in the edge of the fuzzy shadow (the one on the right above made with the frosted bulb) what would it see when looking back towards the bulb?

What would a bug sitting just inside the sharp shadow made by the clear bulb see, looking back at the bulb?
