Colloquium
How do you overcome the resistance of a large mass of students
and convert their potential energy into
the kinetic energy of class activity?
Having a larger mass of students would suggest the need for
greater force to accelerate them toward your
course goals. And, after you've put all that work into
the system, can you calculate the distance you have moved
them? In educational terms, how do you
engage students in a large class
in active learning and how do you assess the success of the course?
