A truck in uniform motion

Standing still certainly qualifies as "doing nothing," but we need to broaden the definition a bit. An airline stewardess can pour coffee, even though she is travelling at the speed of sound. You are moving eastwards at almost 1000 miles per hour due to the rotation of the earth, but you don't notice this at all, because uniform motion is also a way to "do nothing."
